First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to launch Women in Journalism Scotland Thursday 3rd November, 6-9pm
Women in Journalism Scotland, a networking, campaigning, training and social organisation for women journalists – at all ages and stages of their careers – launches in Glasgow next month.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is to launch Women in Journalism Scotland on Thursday November 3. NUJ Scotland is also offering its support and Fiona Davidson, joint secretary of the Glasgow branch will say a few words about the current situation for many women journalists the union represents. EY partner, Tricia Nelson, who supports women at all stages of their careers through networking, mentoring and coaching will also speak at the launch event.
WIJS is for all women who work across all the written, broadcast and new media in Scotland and wants to get as many women as possible involved and to use the launch party to hear ideas about what members would like to get from the organisation. How about masterclasses on negotiating pay rises and promotions, getting the most out of social media, or the ever-tricky subject of work life balance? Come along to the launch event and tell WIJS what sort of speakers might inspire and inform and what sort of social events might attract a crowd.
The event is free and wine, soft drinks and nibbles will be provided.
Book here by 28th Oct.
